Public transport systems are essential for connecting commuters with work, school, and other daily commitments. However, they are prone to disruptions and delays that can impact the journey experience. That’s why many governments share immediate transport updates through social media platforms and mobile applications, enabling individuals to track their bus or train and receive instant notifications about any changes or alerts.
The transport update process is typically time-consuming and requires adequate funding to be completed. However, some communities are able to self-fund their long-range transportation plans, which can give them more flexibility in addressing challenges.
During the update procedure, you can select in phase BIND_PATCH whether SUM should include customer transport requests in the import or not. If you select this option, the parameter VERS_AT_IMP is set to 1, and SUM creates transport profiles during the import. This can prolong the update duration and require more resources in the SAP Solution Manager system. To avoid this, you can use the transport buffer file. This is a text file that contains all transports in the transport queue for the update.
