When people think of local legend, they probably imagine the myths and tall tales that are associated with a place. Often, these stories involve ghosts, demons, cryptids, and other fear-generating narrative elements. But, in reality, most of these stories are based on factual events that happened to someone who lived in or visited the location.
The founders of Local Legend Brewing Company wanted to create a space where the stories of Hilton Head are celebrated, connections are fostered, and every pint is a tribute to the vibrant community they call home. They achieve this with a combination of innovative craft beer and dynamic dining. They also take sustainability seriously. The brewery’s spent grain silo, located right at the front door, collects leftover malt that is then picked up by local farmers to feed livestock – a closed-loop system that ensures no part of the beer goes to waste.
The Local Legends program honors everyday Americans who show up for their communities with grit, heart and humility. The program was a cause that co-founder and longtime champion Hulk Hogan was passionate about, as it celebrates the real heroes in our midst.
