Metallica got together with Dutch filmmaker Anton Corbijn to make this music video for hero of the day, their second single from 1996’s Load. The video follows a drug-addled youth who spends the day watching television, with each program featuring some aspect of Metallica. There’s a Western movie starring Kirk Hammett and Jason Newsted, a boxing match with Hetfield as the coach, a game show hosted by Lars Ulrich and Hetfield, and more. The sonically updated version of hero of the day is streaming now on YouTube, and it’s included in the Load (Remastered) reissue, out today. Reuben Cohen remastered the album and its bonus tracks. What makes a hero?
A hero is someone who does heroic things. It could be a teacher, doctor or soldier. A hero can save a life or even give up their own life for others.
