With a surface temperature reaching 1,480 degrees Celsius, LHS 3844 b is an extreme example that helps scientists understand how planets form and evolve. There was also the discovery of “K2-141 b”, a planet with continuous seas of lava. Located 200 light years from Earth, this planet is very close to its parent star, so temperatures are very high, causing its surface to melt into a sea of lava. Although not habitable, K2-141 b provides crucial information about the physics and geology of exoplanets. This research expands our understanding of extreme planets and how they react to harsh space conditions. Apart from that, research on “WASP-121 b” shows that this exoplanet is experiencing an extraordinary phenomenon, namely the atmosphere is “disappearing” because it is processed by radiation from its star. Located 850 light years from Earth, WASP-121 b is a gas giant planet that has a high temperature, approximately 2,500 degrees Celsius. Observations with the Hubble telescope revealed gas fibers shooting from its atmosphere, providing valuable insight into the extreme conditions that could affect other planets in our galaxy. The latest news findings about exoplanets continue to increase humanity’s curiosity. Projects such as the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) are expected to expand our knowledge of the atmosphere and the potential existence of life on distant planets. The existence of potential biodiversity on exoplanets like TOI-1130 b could offer hope for researchers who are looking for signs of life outside our planet. This increased ability to study exoplanets not only provides insight into their composition, but also opens up new avenues in astrobiology research.
